IOST Cross-chain bridge user guide

1. Connect your wallet to the bridge

• Step 1 Unlock iWallet and MetaMask and enter IOSTSwap official website iostswap.co. Your  iWallet will automatically log in to IOSTSwap official website; 
  
  
• Step 2 Verify the pop up authorization about MetaMask. 
  
  
• Step 3 Reload the website;
  
  
• Step 4 Bravo! You now successfully log in to the IOSTSwap official website with iWallet and MetaMask wallet and you will see the account name and balance once it is connected.
  
  
  
  
  
• Click [IOST Mainnet] on the top right corner to switch to the Ethereum mainnet.
  
  
  
  

Please check the corresponding tutorial of "Cross-chain Tool" at the top of this document if the wallets aren’t installed or can’t be connected successfully.

2. Bridge assets

Coming to the actual bridge section, the system defaults IOST-IRC20 as the sender and IOST-ERC20 as the recipient. However, it can be edited according to the user’s exact needs.

Note: In IOSTSwap v.1.0, the sender’s mainnet and tokens can be manually edited, but the receiver’s mainnet and tokens are matched automatically.

• After confirming that the information is correct, hit [Process] to initiate a cross-chain transaction. After that, double confirm all the details on the pop-up window page and hit [Confirm Transaction] if all details are correct.
  
  
  
  

3. Consult your transaction(s) status

Once sent, a system notification will appear in the upper right corner. To check the transaction status and details, click the link in the pop-up, and you will be redirected to the IOSTABC browser, where you can consult all the details of the current transaction.

FAQ

1. I connected my wallet, but I don’t see my account name or balance.

Wallet connection failed. Please refresh the site, and unlock and connect your wallet again. If the problem persists, please check this document to know more. 

2. I don’t find the asset I would like to bridge on IOSTSwap. 

The current version of IOSTSwap only supports IOST/USDT swaps between the IOST mainnet and the Ethereum mainnet. Please refer to the official announcements channel for more information about other chains and tokens.

3. How much is the minimum?

Kindly check in the bridge interface the minimum and maximum amounts; otherwise, the transaction cannot be completed.

4. I entered some incorrect details. What can I do?

Do always check that the information entered in the bridge interface is correct. You have two chances before the transaction is irreversible: 1 after hitting [Process] to initiate a cross-chain transaction; 2. After that, on the pop-up window page. 

Do not hit [Confirm Transaction] if any detail is incorrect.

5. Do I need to pay for gas?

Please ensure that the balance of the gas fee on both sides’ accounts is sufficient; otherwise, the transaction will not be completed.

6. Where do I check the transaction? 

All records and transaction history on the IOST mainnet can be queried in the IOSTABC browser.
